Infants and Toddlers...

Babies are a special gift from God. At Kids of the Crown we love babies! They are rocked, played with and loved throughout the day. Because of their special needs, babies stay on their own individual schedules until they can adjust to childcare and a routine is established for their care. Our teachers communicate with parents every day.

We accept 8 babies in our Infant room. The room is cozy and bright. The babies listen to music and enjoy hearing stories each day. The babies who are able to sit up enjoy going for rides in the "Bye, Bye Buggy" outside when weather permits Be sure and wave at us if you pass by while we are out.

* Ages 6 weeks thru 12 months

* Babies are on their own schedule

* Outside time when weather and staffing permit

* Lots of cuddling and interaction during playtime, mealtime and diaper changes

* The "Blessing Place" Bible Story Curriculum begins

* Our teachers have been trained in the Sign 2Me program and teach and use signs with the children daily

* Stories are read and music is played throughout the day

Our toddlers are busy and very active. They are learning to walk, run and climb. They sing, dance and play throughout the day. They enjoy art and learning how to play with each other. They especially enjoy their Bible Story time and learning about Jesus. Outside time is also a favorite activity each day.

* Ages 12 months thru 24 months

* Follow a daily schedule including walks, outside time, center activities, stories and music

* Lots of opportunity for social interaction and learning to share

* Seasonal art projects

* Lunch and snacks in their room

* One-on-one interaction through toys, stories and music

* Encouraged to take first steps toward independence

* We begin to work on "potty-training" when parents and teachers feel the child is ready.

* Structured schedule and "Little Lambs" curriculum begins.

* Art, music and storytime a priority

* Our teachers have been trained in the Sign 2Me program and teach and use signs with the children daily

* Monthly units are tied to curriculum and include seasons and holidays
